Hello Kitty is a very interesting character for me. I have always thought of her to be a bit childish, yet so many adult women enjoy this cute cat. My girlfriend is one of the biggest hello kitty fans out there. Over the past 8 months, I have begun to notice so many hello kitty items on the shelf. When I was younger I remember a store in a mall that sold nothing but such items. So, I ended up doing a quick research on a bit of her history. She was introduced in Japan in 1974 and in the US in 1976. With around 42 episodes airing over half a dozen stations across the world in nearly a 4 year total perios, she has swept the world. She has has 13 video games since 1992 and in the past few years she had a jet dedicated to her and a stat guitar. Hello Kitty can be found on a variety of consumer products ranging from school supplies to fashion accessories. Even famours music and movie stars have adopted her as fashion statements. She is the Japan Tourism Ambassador. She has a hospital and restaruants. She is the exclusive UNICEF Special Friend of Children. So what does this mean to you?
