This is a fantastic piece of art. I love how you captured every bit of light reflection and your attention to every shadow. Great work!...

Feature #4 - Dihidrogen Monoxide

Journal Entry: Sat Aug 29, 2009, 6:26 AM
Dihydrogen Monoxide

What is it? (scroll down for pictures)
"Dihydrogen Monoxide (DHMO) is a colorless and odorless chemical compound, also referred to by some as Dihydrogen Oxide, Hydrogen Hydroxide, Hydronium Hydroxide, or simply Hydric acid. Its basis is the highly reactive hydroxyl radical, a species shown to mutate DNA, denature proteins, disrupt cell membranes, and chemically alter critical neurotransmitters. The atomic components of DHMO are found in a number of caustic, explosive and poisonous compounds such as Sulfuric Acid, Nitroglycerine and Ethyl Alcohol." ~[link]

Is it dangerous?
" * Death due to accidental inhalation of DHMO, even in small quantities.
* Prolonged exposure to solid DHMO causes severe tissue damage.
* Excessive ingestion produces a number of unpleasant though not typically life-threatening side-effects.
* DHMO is a major component of acid rain.
* Gaseous DHMO can cause severe burns.
* Contributes to soil erosion.
* Leads to corrosion and oxidation of many metals.
* Contamination of electrical systems often causes short-circuits.
* Exposure decreases effectiveness of automobile brakes.
* Found in biopsies of pre-cancerous tumors and lesions.
* Given to vicious dogs involved in recent deadly attacks.
* Often associated with killer cyclones in the U.S. Midwest and elsewhere, and in hurricanes including deadly storms in Florida, New Orleans and other areas of the southeastern U.S.
* Thermal variations in DHMO are a suspected contributor to the El Nino weather effect." ~[link]

One danger that this advocacy group did not warn us about was the danger of the effect of Dihydrogen Monoxide on beautiful soft skin. This feature was inspired by photos from :pleasurable: . These photos are as follows:

You see the danger? I do =) Water can become dangerously erotic, exotic, and ________ (you insert the adjective).

H2O's Feature

Here are some of my favorite water on skin photos from DA. Support these great artists in all of their endeavors.

Shameless Self Promotion

Here are my most recent edits. See so many more of them in my gallery!
Every few days I upload several photos. Periodically I feature them in my journal.
Click on the photos and show your support for the photographers and models who took the original photos.

What's Next?

I hope to get several more edits done this week. I also hope to add some new faces to this gallery next month. I might do one more journal before the end of the month centered around a month in review. Who knows? I will be out of town from Sept 2-8th and will not have access to any computer/cell services.
Tell me what you would like to see featured, edited, or photographed. Note me or comment your suggestions.

I am what I am and nothing that I'm not. I'm a jack of all trades and a master of none. Hello and thank you for visiting my dA page.

My name is Sean. I was born in Texas into a military family. I currently live in Alabama. I enjoy traveling all over. I am a college graduate with a degree in social work. I am currently in the process of obtaining my masters degree in public administration. I do photography and photo manipulations as a freelance artist. This is such a huge stress relief from what I encounter everyday through my job investigating child abuse and working with their families. Beauty may not be my career, but it is certainly my passion!

As you may have figured out, I am a jack of all trades, master of a few. I throughly enjoy taking photos of people, animals, and nature. I believe that beauty can be found in everything if someone takes the time to look at it. I work primarily in digital format; however, I do work in film on ocassaion. Furthermore, I enjoy sitting at home after a long day and editing photos that I have taken or photos that people ask me to edit.

As you will see in my gallery, I have uploaded several items of my work. I will continue to upload more throughout time. Some of my photo manipulations and photos will not be uploaded at the requests of the person who paid for the work or due to the agreement of the work. I do work for free or for pay =).

If you would like some of your work to be edited please ask =). I look forward to working with you.
